Founded in 2006, the AJC Decatur Book Festival is the largest independent book festival in the country drawing more than 600 authors, 200 exhibitors and over 80,000 people from around the U.S. to downtown Decatur on Labor Day weekend. A showcase for prize winning, national bestselling, and local authors to share new work, the festival’s lively and culturally rich atmosphere attracts readers of all ages among 20 staged venues.
2017 saw the festival celebrate its 11th year and hosted authors such as Mary Kay Andrews, Henry Winkler (aka the Fonz) and Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket).
